CC – She has the head of a Princess and the …………

April May Track work videos and update.

CC reminds us of an old time axiom that a mare should have “a head like a lady’s maid and a bottom like the cooks”

Members of the CC Weka syndicate are a quietly patient team, as is their trainer Terri Rae. In the early stages of CC’s education, she was much bigger than her sisters Wekaforce and Morweka and we had hopes that her size and strength would make for an interesting two year old career. However, CC has just kept growing and growing and growing – currently standing at an impressive sixteen hands. Recently Wekas Mark and Faye Fearon visited Terri’s stable and they were thrilled to meet Terri and to have an opportunity to get up close and personal with CC. Mark’s sentiments and comments on the filly were along the lines an old time axiom that a mare should have “a head like a lady’s maid and a bottom like a cooks”. Thankfully trainer Terri has the experience and wisdom to give the filly time to grow and mature. No pushing her out into the arena until she is ready to handle the job she has to do – which is to become a mighty warrior on the race track. In the mean time she is working well to schedule, is very self contained and happy in her work, and very pleased with all the attention Terri and her stafff are giving her. Treated like a princess and loving it. The next step is for CC to have a jump out and a trial. “I will only do this when she is ready to go”. We are with you all the way Terri, we are 100% behind you and know that this will happen when the time is right – we are sure looking forward to the future with CC. In the mean time we are enjoying watching her work at the Riccarton Race Track- which is undergoing a massive re-vamp with the new all weather track being installed and thanks to the Autumn weather it is well ahead of schedule too. As can be seen in the videos of CC’s track work, it is beginning to get a chill factor in the mornings at Riccarton with a minus one.
