Syndication is underway to race the 2018 Spera – Showcasing filly – nicknamed CC Weka. CC is a full sister to Morweka, Wekaforce and Willweka. She is about to travel down to the South Island to join her sisters at Terri Rae’s Stable.
Trainer: Terri Rae will manage the filly’s race career – the options are all open. We expect CC’s early racing will take place in the South Island. She will only have a start as a two year old if Terri thinks she is ready for it. If CC shows ability going forward then travel could be on the agenda – again that is up to Terri.
Cost per share: A 1% share will cost $35 per month due 15th of each month. Please note that this is a $5 increase per share from previous syndicates, based on average costs and potential travel expenses. With the uncertainty of racing in NZ in the current environment we need to leave our options open. Bare in mind that any fund surpluses are always repaid to the syndicate, and in principle we do not ever ask for more funding from syndicate members – the Weka horses have to pay their way.
Breeders Les and Janine Wallace will not be taking out any percentage payments, and have retained a 10% share which they pay for the same as all other syndicate members. There is no right of purchase on the filly

Length of Lease: Initial lease is until June 2022. We ask all syndicate members to make a personal commitment to the two year duration. If the filly measures up and shows talent Les and Janine are open to extending the lease, just as they have done with the other Weka fillies. The lease can also be terminated if the filly does not measure up – however based on her size and scope and the talent of her sisters and our trainer, we are confident that CC will live up to our hopeful expectations.
Group shares: as in splitting a share or two between parties are acceptable as long as they are under one account name, however every syndicate member must fill out a form and all syndicate members will be registered as individuals with NZTR

Accounting: Syndicate members will receive a copy of the transaction statement each month with the bank balances.
Syndicate Payouts: Should the filly be successful on track, payouts are done either annually or as funds accumulate

The SR 5 gives syndicate manager Janine Wallace the authority to action any official requirements by NZTR without having to go to every member of the syndicate for a signature each time a decision is made – for example registering a race name, or extending the lease etc.
